At the heart of the Color, Glory and Beauty exhibition on medieval Germanic paintings, the audiovisual feature Le Retable, Mode d’emploi provides the keys to understanding the exhibition.

In a light-hearted, humorous yet educational tone, the film makes the altarpiece, a major work of the German Middle Ages, accessible to all, paying tribute to the works in the Museum and to the best-known of them all: the Issenheim Altarpiece.
